Current Mission and Featured Artists

Our 2020 Spring mission is to raise awareness and funds for a local agency that supports Madison residents struggling with shelter, especially in the COVID-19 Pandemic. We are focusing on Porchlight’s DIGS program.  The Dwelling Intervention Grants & Sustenance program (DIGS) provides housing-related emergency assistance to individuals and families in Dane County who are facing eviction and therefore at risk of becoming homeless.  Additionally, DIGS offers financial support to those who have secured affordable housing but need assistance with first month’s rent and security deposit. During the COVID-19 crisis, they’re working hard to explore new resources to meet the incredible, unprecedented needs our neighbors are facing.  It can’t go unmentioned that although any of us can fall victim to housing-emergencies, the rates are disproportionate for certain ethnic and racial minorities.  This is not okay, and we must remain vigilant to CHANGE this age-old norm in our society.

Please enjoy the video contributions of devoted Madison-area artists who have united to help Porchlight DIGS.  Watch any videos that fit your interests, and consider making a donation to the Porchlight DIGS program.  Even a small amount can help.  Thank you for visiting Madison Artists United to help out some of our most vulnerable during COVID-19.
